By working with us to create fixture and finish storyboards, you help to focus your project vision and provide valuable tools to your architect and builder. Interior Designers don’t simply add decorative content at the end of a project. Rather, we are typically involved in every interior element of a project’s design. A strong team relationship between client, architect, interior designer and builder is to your benefit.
It is never too early to bring us onboard.
Our studio will pull together selections for tile/hard surfaces, flooring, plumbing fixtures and accessories, appliances, interior and exterior lighting, wallcoverings, paint finishes, and deliver storyboards for your review, approval and project use.
Construction and design projects begin, at a minimum, with floor plans and any required structural engineering drawings. We always advocate for more drawings, especially with complicated interior design directives.
Depending upon the contents of your drawing set we can pull together project materials for you and lay them out upon the table for a fantastically fun afternoon of review. Keeping your budget in mind, we narrow down your general preferences together and start to make selections for each room. Once we’ve completed this process we can hand off your reduced range of product selections to your builder. See our Bungalow Bath Remodel project for an example of this kind of handoff.
Alternatively, we can work together and continue to refine the selections, add in nuances of soft furnishings, and perhaps prepare drawings similar to those shown below. Bluestocking Studio can provide a wide range of design support during your home project, ranging from an hourly package to guidance along each step. Either way, you are in control of how little or how much we assist.
